Crisis, Outreach and Community Support

Crisis & Outreach Support

At Hemat Gryffe Women's Aid, we recognise that women facing domestic abuse, forced marriage or honour-based abuse have a unique experience. Crisis support helps women in immediate need and women can receive support at every stage of their journey. The outreach service allows support to continue for women who may not be able to access refuge accommodation. Experienced staff provide culturally sensitive billingual support and stand alongside every victim-survivor on their pathway to safety.  Women accessing the outreach service receive consistent and tailored help. This includes emotional support as well as practical assistance for women who are planning to leave or rebuild their lives after leaving an abusive partner.

Community Support

Funding from Glasgow City Council Community Fund has increased support to victim-surivors across Glasgow.  Designated workers are engaged in local communities across Glasgow and can meet women in safe locations in their neighbourhood.  If reaching our office is challenging or poses safety concerns, arrangements can be made to meet at community locations where women feel at ease.

Collaborating with various trusted community services and facilities has enabled the provision of confidential support.  By working closely with local services, we strive to ensure that women can obtain assistance in ways that are safe, confidential and accessible to them.

Our Crisis, Outreach and Community Support Workers Can:

  • Help women and girls safely leave an abusive situation
  • Provide practical and emotional support
  • May accompany women and girls to appointments
  • Maintain ongoing support and communication in their first language
